Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us, and so is being transparent about how we collect, use, and share information about you, whether you are a SOMSA member, event attendee, sponsor, or guest.


Personal Information

SOMSA collects certain personal information about members and their practices, including but not limited to names, birth date, work addresses, mobile telephone numbers, email addresses, number of practice locations, etc (“Your Information”). Providing most of this information to SOMSA is voluntary. 


Your Information is used to contact you and group members by practice characteristics in order to sort like members together for the purposes of education and networking. 


We will never sell or give our members’ data to any outside entity without your consent; however, there are several activities in which members might engage that participation includes consent to share some limited portion of Your Information including but not limited to:

  • registering for a membership releases SOMSA to provide your first name, last name, and email address to OMSNIC for the express and sole purpose of receiving the OMS administrators specific The OMS Guardian bi-monthly risk management email newsletter, which members are free to unsubscribe from at any time.
  • registering for the Annual Conference releases SOMSA to provide your name, practice name, practice mailing address, and email address to sponsors for limited contact (3 times by email before requiring opt-in and 3 times by direct mail before requiring opt-in).
  • registering for a SOMSA members-only webinar releases SOMSA to provide your name, practice name, practice city and state, and email address to the presenter of the webinar for limited contact (1 time by email before requiring opt-in).

Privacy Rights

We may retain Your Information for a period of time consistent with the original purpose of collection and for a reasonable period afterward. We may also retain your information during the period of time needed for us to pursue our legitimate business interests, conduct audits, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

How to Contact Us Regarding a Privacy Policy Violation

SOMSA is committed to resolving complaints about our collection and use of Your Information. We take your privacy and your concerns very seriously. If you believe we have not complied with the policies outlined here or any applicable laws or regulations, please contact us first by emailing us at privacy@somsa.org or by writing to the Board President at president@somsa.org. You may also mail your letter describing in as much detail as possible the ways in which you believe the Privacy Policy has not been complied with and send it to the Board President at the following address:
